Crane Season!

By mid-March, Sandhill Cranes are at peak migration near Kearney, Nebraska. Gathering in the Platte River by the hundreds of thousands in the evening, cranes head out at dawn to feed in nearby fields. One never tires of the sight or sound of this spring spectacle, or sketching these magnificent birds!
