Brook Trout Spawning Season

Mid-September is the start of the fall spawning season for the colorful Brook Trout in Rocky Mountain National Park. A great place to see and sketch these fish staging for the event is at the inlet to Sprague Lake, which is a short walk from the trailhead parking.
