Karen Manci Art Studio in Nature
Meet Karen
Thank you for your interest in my art!
My goal is to create art that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of nature that is all around us, wherever we hike, wherever we walk, wherever we watch.
If gazing at one of my watercolor paintings sparks a memory of a special place in nature for you, or makes you want to go explore our Colorado foothills and mountains, then I have accomplished my goal. Enjoy!
My Background
After earning my Master's Degree in Wildlife Ecology, I was a professional editor and writer for a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service contractor. I am an author with more than 30 published articles and reports with associated photographs and drawings.
I later became a Senior Environmental Planner for the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department. I was responsible for implementing the City’s natural areas policies and plans, and worked on more than a dozen
Art in Public Places
Project Teams with artists and other City staff. I presented
Making Art in Public Places Work for Your Natural Area
at a National Natural Areas Conference in Chicago.
