Karen Manci Art

As an avid hiker and wildlife ecologist turned artist, I find watercolor the ideal medium to express the beauty of nature. Easily portable in a backpack, watercolor is perfect for plein air painting, but can be challenging in the quick-drying mountain air of Colorado. I use art to capture the feeling of a special moment during a hike. Absorbed in the world around me, I search for the perfect stop along a trail to paint, and then watch the essence of nature come to life on my paper.

Nebraskaland Days Art Show

Several of my watercolor paintings are currently in the Nebraskaland Days Art Show at the Prairie Arts Center in North Platte, Nebraska. The show features Nebraska western, wildlife, and landscape art. The Prairie Arts Center occupies a beautiful historic building in downtown North Platte. The show runs through the end of June.
