Karen Manci Art

As an avid hiker and wildlife ecologist turned artist, I find watercolor the ideal medium to express the beauty of nature. Easily portable in a backpack, watercolor is perfect for plein air painting, but can be challenging in the quick-drying mountain air of Colorado. I use art to capture the feeling of a special moment during a hike. Absorbed in the world around me, I search for the perfect stop along a trail to paint, and then watch the essence of nature come to life on my paper.

Celebrate Colorado's Nature

More than a half dozen of my paintings will be displayed in the Northern Colorado Artist's Community's special exhibit during May at the Sanderosa Art Gallery in Laporte, Colorado. Seven Sanderosa artists have joined together to present their best Colorado wildlife, wildflower, and landscape works. Artists will also have greeting cards, mini paintings, prints, and unframed paintings for sale during the exhibit.
