Karen Manci Art

As an avid hiker and wildlife ecologist turned artist, I find watercolor the ideal medium to express the beauty of nature. Easily portable in a backpack, watercolor is perfect for plein air painting, but can be challenging in the quick-drying mountain air of Colorado. I use art to capture the feeling of a special moment during a hike. Absorbed in the world around me, I search for the perfect stop along a trail to paint, and then watch the essence of nature come to life on my paper.

The Magic of Masks Show

My "Bobcat Camo" recently won an Excellence in Creativity Award in The Magic of Masks Show at the Art Center of Estes Park. The Art Center in Estes Park, Colorado, is open from 11 am to 5 pm Fridays through Monday during the winter months. The Show closes March 17, 2025.
