Karen Manci Art

As an avid hiker and wildlife ecologist turned artist, I find watercolor the ideal medium to express the beauty of nature. Easily portable in a backpack, watercolor is perfect for plein air painting, but can be challenging in the quick-drying mountain air of Colorado. I use art to capture the feeling of a special moment during a hike. Absorbed in the world around me, I search for the perfect stop along a trail to paint, and then watch the essence of nature come to life on my paper.

Current Exhibitions and Shows

Studio in Nature Exhibition

Over 50 of my paintings are currently in a solo exhibition hosted by the First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, Colorado, located at 1005 Stover Street. My art is available for public viewing during church business hours from 9:00 am to 5 pm Mondays through Fridays and 8 am to 1 pm on Sundays. Studio in Nature runs until April 30, 2025.
